Expedition Seriema – Chapada dos Guimarães

Chapada dos Guimaraes National Park and surroundings offers a variety of activities. There are many beautiful walks to go on stunning scenery and the opportunity to swim in crystal-clear pools and streams. “Véu de Noiva” waterfall is a highlight of the National Park. It is a region of rugged terrain with dramatic cliffs and waterfalls.

This is an area of outstanding natural beauty with soaring red sandstone cliffs, isolated rock islands with vertical cliffs, many of which have never been scaled by man, amazing rock formations at ‘Stone City’, and a wealth of wildlife, especially birds, in some of the last remnants of the savannah scrub forests that once covered much of central Brazil.

The whole area is a great place for birding including Amazon Motmots, King Vultures, Band-tailed Manakins, Burrowing owls, and Cliff flycatchers amongst many others.

01-CUIABÁ > CHAPADA DOS GUIMARÃES
Upon arrival travel to Chapada dos Guimarães National Park. Check-in at Atmã Charm Lodge . Afternoon drive to the Echo Wall for sunset and to try observe the red and green macaw returning for rest in the wall wholes. On the way back stop for a visit around the historical city of Chapada. Dinner and night walk around the many lodges trials with spot lighting. Overnight at Atmã Lodge Boutique.

02-CHAPADA DOS GUIMARÃES
Full day to explore this wonderful region, with its many savanna species. Lunch at Atmã Restaurant.Back to the Lodge, enjoy birding in its untamed surroundings. Dinner and overnight.

03-CHAPADA DOS GUIMARÃES
Birding Jamaca Private Reserve all day. Lunch local Restaurant Back to the Lodge, enjoy birding in its untamed surroundings. Dinner and overnight.
